Hospital Aide - Surgical Ward

About the Role
Hospital Aides are an integral part of our team and
we are looking for candidates who have excellent communication skills, a
positive attitude and the ability to use their initiative. This is a great
opportunity to give back to your community and utilise your caring skills and
values.
Ward GG is a busy 42 bed unit providing post-operative care patients predominantly undergoing elective orthopaedic and plastic surgery.
It is a fast-paced environment with a very committed team who enjoy the high turnover of patients staying between 1 – 4 days post surgery.
The role of a Hospital Aide varies from day to day, but you will be there to make sure that the ward is running smoothly and to its highest potential. You will assist the nursing team with a variety of tasks on the ward which could include:
- Basic patient care (e.g. hygiene and mobility assistance)
- Keeping the environment tidy and organised
- Ordering and restocking of supplies
- Ensuring patient safety through close observation
- Ensuring that patients have
the best experience possible
About You
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to engage well
- Effective problem solving and decision-making skills
- Ability to work efficiently and effectively in a multidisciplinary team
- Initiative and a proactive approach to work
- Strong computer skills and administration experience would be an advantage
- Ideally experience as a Hospital Aide or similar
You will enjoy being busy and don't mind that the role can be at times be physically demanding. You will work with a diverse team and demonstrate flexibility by following a roster covering 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
