Interim Charge Nurse Manager – Cardiology Cath Labs

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Registered Nurse to step into the Interim Charge Nurse Manager role for the Cardiology Cath Labs for a period of 3 months. This temporary position will remain in place until a permanent Charge Nurse Manager is appointed.
The Interim Charge Nurse Manager is responsible for co-ordinating nursing activity at the ward level, facilitating and promoting excellence in nursing care.
Key aspects of the role include:
- Weekday working hours – no on-call component
- Responsibility for daily operational management, patient flow, and coordination of nursing resources
- Orientation and support provided
- Higher duties allowance applies as per the MECA

About the Service
Our service provides acute and planned cardiac care to the Canterbury and West Coast catchment. Our unit currently has two Catheter labs and planning is underway to expand the service which will include a third lab, resulting in changes in our models of care.

- Senior Nurse with recent cardiology, perioperative or medical experience
- Advanced clinical knowledge and leadership skills
- Experience managing complex situations
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and time management skills
- Confidence working independently and in multidisciplinary teams
- Ability to build strong working relationships
- Competent computer/documentation skills
- Hold or working towards a relevant Post Graduate qualification
- Registered with the Nursing Council of New Zealand with a current Annual Practising Certificate (APC)
