Kitchen Assistant - Food Quality

Monday - Sunday 16.30 - 19.30, starting rate
of $28.63 per hour
About the role
We are looking for a hard working, reliable kitchen assistant to join our Food Quality team.
Our team works within a fast-paced environment running 7 days per week, 365 days per year.
In this role you will be responsible for:
- Working as part of a team in a busy kitchen environment.
- Dishwashing and cleaning.
- Goods receiving and handling.
- Keeping things clean and safe.
About You
We are looking for a reliable, hardworking and flexible candidate who can bring their exceptional skill and passion to our team.
Adaptability is essential as the successful
candidate will be required to work across multiple work areas and complete a
variety of tasks.
To succeed in this role, you will have:
Essential:
- A friendly and positive attitude.
- Ability to follow instructions.
- Physical fitness and strength to transport goods and deliveries across campus.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Basic communication skills.
- The physical ability to stand for long periods and lift items (e.g., stacks of plates, bins).
- Reliability and punctuality.
Desired:
- NZQA Food Handling Cert Unit 167 / 168.
- Some experience working in a cafe or kitchen role.
- Basic understanding of food safety rules.
- Experience using a pallet lifter or pushing large trolleys.
