About the Role

As the Medical Education Coordinator, you will be a key member of the Medical Education and Training Unit (METU), supporting the coordination, delivery, and continuous improvement of postgraduate medical education programmes for RMOs.

This role involves working closely with clinical leaders, educational supervisors, specialist colleges, and external partners to ensure RMO training programmes meet accreditation requirements and reflect best practice. You will contribute to programme planning, orientation, accreditation activity, and the ongoing development of a positive and innovative learning environment.

This is a part-time, fixed-term role funded through contract arrangements, offering meaningful work with strong professional purpose and impact.

About the Team / Service / Location

The Medical Education and Training Unit (METU) at Christchurch Hospital supports postgraduate medical education across Waitaha Canterbury. The team works collaboratively with clinical services, colleges, and universities to deliver high-quality training in a busy tertiary hospital setting.

About You

As a Medical Education Coordinator, you will bring:

  • Postgraduate qualifications (up to Masters level) in education or a related field and/or professional qualifications in a health-related discipline
  • Experience in planning, coordinating, and delivering clinical teaching or workplace learning programmes
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Experience working with RMOs and/or accreditation standards for clinical training (desirable)
