Medical illustration Clinical Manager

About the Role

Medical Illustration is an Allied Health Scientific /Technical team that brings together artistry and scientific skills to visually communicate complex healthcare concepts. Our role spans from clinical imaging and scientific illustration, to educational media, design production, and patient communication. Our products are used by patients, clinicians, researchers, educators and management to improve patient health outcomes.

The Clinical Manager leads staff with professional skillsets in both medical photography and medical graphics. We’re looking for someone who has extensive experience in one of those areas who can contribute in that role alongside providing professional leadership for team members in the same specialty and general leadership for the wider team.

In this role you will be responsible for: 

  • Leading and managing the Medical Illustration team and service
  • Engaging with clinical leadership to promote services and opportunities for the team to add value to model of care conversations and patient outcomes
  • Providing professional leadership to team members in your own specialist area, giving training, coaching, ensuring quality standards and protocols are met and approving work outputs
  • Contributing to work outputs by delivering on your own area of specialist knowledge
  • Enhancing team focus and growing the capability of team members to meet new service demands

About you

We are looking for someone with drive and passion to expand the way Medical Illustration supports our clinical teams to achieve timely access to quality healthcare, equitable patient outcomes and to strengthen our organisation by supporting professional education and knowledge sharing. To be successful in this role you will demonstrate the following:

  • Exceptional interpersonal, persuasion and influencing skills with the confidence to build new service offerings
  • a tertiary qualification in either medical photography and digital imaging or medical graphics
  • a minimum of 5 years’ experience working in either medical photography and digital imaging or medical graphics in the New Zealand healthcare sector
