Medical Imaging Technologist - General X-ray

About the Role
We have a permanent part-time role available working Mondays and Tuesdays (0.4FTE / 16 hours per week) in our General X-ray team. The role is based at Burwood Hospital, a busy specialist hospital providing a broad range of elective surgical, Older Persons Health, and spinal injury rehabilitation services.
Our small, friendly Burwood team work closely alongside clinical services across the hospital to provide X-ray support for community-referred patients, outpatient clinics, theatres and inpatient imaging. The department is modern, well-equipped and benefits from readily available on-site staff parking.
The team are joined by MITs who rotate
from Christchurch Hospital, providing regular opportunities to work alongside
colleagues from the wider Radiology team while retaining the close-knit feel of
a smaller department. Burwood also regularly hosts Ara Medical
Imaging students for clinical placements, and supporting their clinical
education and development is an important part of the role.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Delivering quality patient-centred radiographic services which are efficient and effective for the needs of the patients and the service
- Effective documentation of procedures (where appropriate)
- Contributing positively to quality improvement and quality assurance programmes
- Working collaboratively with clinical teams and colleagues
- Supervision and clinical training of Medical Imaging students
About You
The
successful candidate will demonstrate:
- Solid experience of general imaging and a genuine passion for radiography
- A strong work ethic, a dedication to teamwork and a commitment to both patient care and high-quality imaging
- Experience of dealing with patients from a diverse range of backgrounds
- Registration
with the MRTB and a valid practising certificate
