Are you a qualified Medical Physicist ready to step into a key clinical support role in radiation oncology? We’re seeking a motivated and skilled professional to join our collaborative physics team at Christchurch Hospital for a fixed-term, part-time parental leave cover position.
Contribute your expertise in treatment planning, machine QA, and brachytherapy in one of New Zealand’s most advanced cancer centres.

About the Role
As a Medical Physicist in this 0.6 FTE parental leave cover position, you will focus on the delivery of clinical duties in treatment planning, machine quality assurance, and brachytherapy (if qualified). Working closely with radiation oncologists, radiation therapists, and technical teams, your expertise will directly support the safe and effective treatment of patients.

About the Team/Service/Location
Our Medical Physics and Bioengineering team supports radiation oncology services across Canterbury, working at the forefront of clinical innovation and safety. The team is integral to the daily delivery of care at Christchurch Hospital – the South Island’s largest tertiary centre.

About You
You will be a qualified Medical Physicist with experience in clinical radiation oncology services. You'll bring:
- A postgraduate degree (MSc or PhD) in Medical Physics or related field.
- Certification (or eligibility) with ACPSEM or equivalent international body.
- Experience in radiation treatment planning and machine QA.
- Qualification and/or experience in brachytherapy (preferred).
- Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative working style.
