Mō te tūnga - About the Role
The first few weeks of any new-borns life are a time of changes, transitions and challenges and Neonatal nurses are the nursing experts who care for unwell new-borns during this sometimes difficult time.
The
Neonatal Service at Christchurch Women’s Hospital is a busy acute service
providing secondary/tertiary care to new-born babies born prematurely or with
surgical, congenital and medical complications following birth. We are
resourced as a 44 bedded unit compromised of 12 intensive care and 32 special care
cot’s with our catchment area covering approximately 20,000 square kilometres
of the South Island.

If you
have Neonatal/Paediatric experience or you are a registered nurse with
transferrable skills who enjoy working as part of a dynamic
multidisciplinary service in a busy tertiary unit and have the ability to work
8 or 12 hour rostered rotating shifts including nights then we want to hear
from you.
We are looking for dynamic, confident and competent Registered Nurses who wish
to be a part of a team that provides quality evidence based nursing care for
the neonates and families within our care.
You will have effective problem solving and decision making skills and a
commitment to providing and maintaining high standards of nursing practice
within our service.
You will be given a thorough orientation and supported with your ongoing
professional development.
