About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Nephrology Fellow to join the Nephrology Service at Christchurch Hospital for a 12-month fixed-term position.
This role offers an excellent opportunity for advanced training in nephrology within a busy tertiary referral centre. The successful applicant will gain broad exposure across all aspects of nephrology, including acute and chronic kidney disease, dialysis, transplantation, and general nephrology outpatient and inpatient care.
As a Fellow, you will work closely with consultant nephrologists and the wider renal multidisciplinary team, contributing to inpatient management, outpatient clinics, and after-hours nephrology support. The position is well suited to trainees wishing to consolidate and expand their nephrology knowledge and clinical skills in a dynamic and collaborative environment.
About the Team / Service / Location
The Nephrology Service at Christchurch Hospital provides comprehensive tertiary renal services to the wider Canterbury and West Coast regions. The service includes inpatient nephrology, haemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, home dialysis, and renal transplantation, supported by a dedicated multidisciplinary team.

About You
As a Nephrology Fellow, you will:
- Hold registration or be eligible for registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand
- Have completed at least two years of advanced physician training (or equivalent)
- Demonstrate a strong interest in nephrology and renal medicine
- Have excellent clinical, communication, and teamwork skills
- Be committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care
