About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the Nursing Educator team for Children’s Health in Waitaha, Christchurch Hospital. This role will be focused on the education needs of the staff working within the Children’s Emergency Centre but will also be part of the wider Child Health Educator team.
About the Service
Children’s Emergency Care (CEC) is a busy emergency department for all Tamariki aged 0-16yrs. It is a dynamic and fast paced service requiring a broad overview of many medical and surgical diagnosis. Additionally, there are specific competencies required by staff, in order to progress to the next step in nursing roles within CEC. The Nurse Educator position will be pivotal in ensuring all nurses are up to date with their competencies. They will also provide education sessions for the CEC staff and work with the Paediatric Educators to provide education across the wider service.
About You
- You need to have a minimum of 3 years working as an RN at a minimum of 0.8FTE in a paediatric service.
- You need to have obtained or be working towards a post graduate qualification.
- You need to have excellent communication skills and work collaboratively across services.
- Registered with Nursing Council of New Zealand with a current APC
