About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Nurse Educator to join our Dialysis Service at Christchurch Hospital.
In this role, you will provide nursing leadership and education to support the development of clinical knowledge and skills within the service. You will work collaboratively with nursing staff and the wider multidisciplinary team to promote evidence-based practice, support professional development and enhance patient outcomes.
This role offers the opportunity to influence nursing practice through education, mentorship and quality improvement initiatives, while supporting staff to deliver high-quality, patient-centred care.

About the Service
The Dialysis Service provides care to patients across Canterbury through the acute inpatient unit, home haemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis programme.
Our team is committed to delivering high-quality renal care and supporting ongoing professional development for nursing staff. The Nurse Educator plays a key role in ensuring staff are equipped with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to provide excellent care across the service.
About You
You will be an experienced registered nurse with a passion for education, professional development, and clinical excellence. You will enjoy working collaboratively with others and have the ability to support and guide staff in a dynamic clinical environment.
- Current registration with the Nursing Council of New Zealand and a current APC
- Proven clinical nursing experience, ideally in a senior or specialist capacity
- Experience in adult education, staff development, or clinical teaching
- Excellent communication, coaching, and mentoring skills
- A strong commitment to evidence-based practice and quality improvement
- The ability to build effective relationships across multidisciplinary teams
- A passion for supporting professional growth and enhancing nursing capability
