Our Purpose: Why we do it
When you work with the Canterbury District Health Board, you’re part of something very special. We plan, fund and deliver health services to the almost 600,000 New Zealanders that live in the Canterbury region. Our primary goal is to put people at the heart of everything we do.
The Team: What we do
Our Orthopedic Department provides acute and elective services for more than our Canterbury Population. As a tertiary centre, we provide a number of key specialist services across the South Island and the lower half of the North Island. This extends to providing on the West Coast at Greymouth Base Hospital the orthopedic elective service for the West Coast District Health Board.
Our orthopedic service provides over 5000 acute surgeries each year, and this is growing. We have a trauma unit, and one of only two spinal unit’s in New Zealand - we are number one when it comes to trauma care.
Our Orthopedic Department has a strong reputation for providing excellent training and research. The members of our Orthopedic Surgical Department work closely together in a collaborative and supportive environment, and function extremely well as a team.
The Role: Where you fit it
If you are looking for a unique opportunity and are keen to secure a spot in one of the country's most reputable Orthopedic departments, whether your interest is supporting Trauma, Spine or even the opportunity to support the West Coast delivery than we want to hear from you.
To be eligible for this position you must be able to gain registration with the New Zealand Medical Council.
Our Culture: What matters to us
