About the Role
As a Pharmacist, you will deliver safe, effective and efficient pharmacy services to support optimal medicines use across inpatient and outpatient settings.
This role is based in our Pharmacy department at Te Nīkau Hospital, where you will be an integral member of a small, friendly and supportive team. Together, you will provide high-quality pharmacy services to our hospital and associated clinics. While previous hospital experience is preferred, it is not essential, training and support will be provided to help you succeed.
You’ll work across clinical and operational areas, contributing to patient care, medicines safety, and service quality. This is a varied role where you’ll engage directly with patients, clinicians, and the wider healthcare team.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Provide clinical pharmacy support to wards
- Dispense medicines safely and accurately
- Deliver medicines advice and education to patients and staff
- Support compounding and supply services
About You
We are seeking qualified pharmacists who are passionate about delivering patient-centred care and improving health outcomes. You will demonstrate the following skills/ experience:
- Well-developed communication and time-management skills
- A flexible and motivated approach to your work
- Strong clinical knowledge and commitment to best practice
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement
- Competency with IT systems and willingness to learn new technologies
- Registration as a Pharmacist in New Zealand with a current APC
- Hospital experience is desirable
