  • Salary – Starting from $65,842 - $79,039. Based off the PSA Allied, Public Health and Technical collective agreement
  • Hours of Work - Monday - Friday 8am - 4:30pm

Pharmacy Services.  Patient centred: medicines focused

We're looking for a motivated individual to join our Pharmacy Distribution team. This is an exciting opportunity to work within an experienced team who are all passionate about the health and wellbeing of the Canterbury Community.

Our wide range of pharmacy services is provided by a positive, friendly and inclusive team of Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians, Pharmacy Assistants and administrative staff.  We pride ourselves on delivering an outstanding service in collaboration with the wider multi-disciplinary team.

The role is varied, encompassing rotations throughout clinical areas across Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora hospital sites in Christchurch: Christchurch Hospital, Burwood Hospital and Hillmorton Hospital.

Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora, Waitaha prides itself on supporting and developing our Pharmacy Assistants. This position has plenty of challenging opportunities and innovation is encouraged by peers, senior staff and management. The department provides regular continuing education and numerous other training opportunities.

Key tasks include:

  • Providing pharmacy stock requirements to all areas within the organisation
  • Preparing orders using bar code scanning, stock selection, checking and packing
  • Delivery of orders across hospital sites
  • Responsibility for maintaining stock levels in a designated clinical area
  • Answering enquiries from wards and other pharmacy staff
  • Basic computer data entry
