About the Role
We are looking for a dedicated and professional Phlebotomist – Pre-Analytical Technician to join our laboratory team. This role is responsible for delivering high-quality patient care and laboratory support services, including blood collection, specimen handling, and pre-analytical processing. You will play a key role in ensuring accurate results and a positive experience for patients and clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Patient Care & Client Service
  • Phlebotomy & Specimen Collection
  • Laboratory Information Systems & Data Management
  • Pre-Analytical & Technical Duties
  • General Duties such as maintaining stock levels of consumables and routine cleaning and maintenance of the laboratory environment

About you

Essential Requirements

  • NCEA Level 2 or equivalent qualification
  • Hold or be working towards MLT or ML-PAT registration
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and prioritise workloads
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills
  • Reliable, accountable, and client-focused
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
  • Cultural awareness and understanding of the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi 

Desirable Skills & Experience

  • Registration with the New Zealand Institute of Medical Laboratory Science (NZIMLS)
  • Previous healthcare or laboratory experience
