About the Role
We are looking for a dedicated and professional Phlebotomist – Pre-Analytical
Technician to join our laboratory team. This role is responsible for delivering
high-quality patient care and laboratory support services, including blood
collection, specimen handling, and pre-analytical processing. You will play a
key role in ensuring accurate results and a positive experience for patients
and clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Patient Care & Client Service
- Phlebotomy & Specimen Collection
- Laboratory Information Systems & Data Management
- Pre-Analytical & Technical Duties
- General Duties such as maintaining stock levels of consumables and routine cleaning and maintenance of the laboratory environment
About you
Essential Requirements
- NCEA Level 2 or equivalent qualification
- Hold or be working towards MLT or ML-PAT registration
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and prioritise workloads
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills
- Reliable, accountable, and client-focused
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
- Cultural awareness and understanding of the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi
Desirable Skills & Experience
- Registration with the New Zealand Institute of Medical Laboratory Science (NZIMLS)
- Previous healthcare or laboratory experience
