About the Role

The Physiotherapy team at Christchurch Hospital are looking for an experienced physiotherapist to join our busy, multi-disciplinary team working across the Emergency Department and Orthopaedic Acute Care. This role requires a physiotherapist to work as a primary contact physiotherapist (seeing patients who have not had a prior medical assessment), as well as see patients referred from the medical teams.

A work day will be a 10 hour shift between 0730 and 2000, across 7 days.

A thorough induction to the Emergency Department and support will be provided for the right candidate. 

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Delivering high quality physiotherapy assessment and management of patients with diverse and complex conditions in the Emergency Department and Orthopaedic Acute Care
  • Providing specialist guidance and advice and education to patients, family/whanau, students, staff and the inter-professional team within the Emergency Department and wider musculoskeletal inpatient cluster

Abot You

To be successful in this role, you will be a team player who has at least 3 years clinical experience in an acute setting. You will also demonstrate the following:

  • The ability to think on your feet and use your initiative to be able to work flexibly with a varied workload
  • Excellent time management and organisation skills and be able to work under pressure
  • Competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth 
  • Registration with the NZ Physiotherapy Board is essential 
  • Current Annual Practicing Certificate is essential
