Physiotherapist - Rotational


  • Full time, permanent position available for a rotational physiotherapist
  • Must have prior rotational experience in an acute hospital across a variety of areas
  • Registration with the NZ Physiotherapy Board and a current APC is essential

Mō te tūnga | About the role

We are looking for a Physiotherapist with a passion to deliver high quality standard of care to patients at both Christchurch, Burwood and Hillmorton Campuses. You will be working across all inpatient areas as a member of the multidisciplinary team and contribute to the outpatient settings also. You will need to be flexible and adaptable with enthusiasm for knowledge sharing across disciplines.

Depending on the level of complexity of work area, rotations are either four or eight month’s duration. Rotations include ICU, Hand Therapy, Stroke Rehabilitation, Spinal, Burns and Plastics, Neurosurgery, Specialist Mental Health, General Medicine, General Surgical, orthopaedics and many more. You’ll work in a friendly team, enjoy the support of senior colleagues, and support our new graduate physiotherapy colleagues and students. 

You will be expected to contribute to the after hours service, working weekends and on calls.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Undertaking expert assessments, completing appropriate interventions and providing advice or referring to other services.
  • Working Alongside a multidisciplinary team.
  • Helping supervise students and providing mentorship to junior colleagues as your experience level progresses.

Your qualifications and skills will include:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • A broad range of experience across the tertiary care environment;
  • The ability to work collaboratively;
  • NZ Registration and a current APC
