Physiotherapist | Women’s Health
- Part time (0.7FTE), permanent role within Women’s Health (56hours/fortnight)
- Predominantly outpatient work; some inpatient cover required.
- Hours negotiable for the right candidate

Mō te tūnga | About the Role
Here at Christchurch Hospital we are looking for an experienced
Physiotherapist in Women’s Health
Physiotherapy to join us in providing a quality service to our patients. You will
work flexibly to provide support to patients across the clinical specialties in
Women’s Health including obstetrics, gynaecology and pelvic pain. This role is predominantly
outpatient work, however inpatient cover on the gynaecology and maternity
inpatient wards may be required.
This role sits within
a wider team working across the clinical specialties of Women’s Health, Orthopaedics,
Hand Therapy and Haemophillia.
Ko wai koe | About You
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Using detailed anatomical knowledge and musculoskeletal physiotherapy evidence to assess and manage a range of women’s health presentations from lower back pain in pregnancy, to continence and prolapse assessment and management, and chronic pelvic pain.
- Undertaking assessments, completing appropriate interventions and providing advice or referring to other services;
- Supervising and mentoring staff and students as required;
- Supporting quality improvement activities.

- A minimum of 2 years clinical experience working in Women’s Health
- Broad clinical experience working in a hospital setting (desirable);
- Good understanding of the current management principles of chronic pain as well as an understanding of the principles of adult education;
- An ability to contribute to interdisciplinary service development
- Knowledge of quality improvement principles and processes
- An ability to work unsupervised
- Excellent communication skills both verbally and written
- Demonstrated leadership abilities (desirable)
- Registration with the NZ Physiotherapy Board and an Annual Practicing Certificate is essential
