Professional Development Coordinator
- Primarily based at Christchurch Health Campus
- Permanent part-time position 20 hours per week, this is a job share with a current incumbent

We are actively seeking a dedicated and Qualified Anaesthetic Technician or RNAA to join us as a Professional Development Co-ordinator. This role is pivotal to providing expert orientation and support to new team members, whilst also contributing to the ongoing professional development and education of the existing AT and RNAA team!

We are looking for the right team player to role share the Professional Development Co-ordinator position. Key Responsibilities:
- Support ongoing professional development, education, and competency maintenance
- Facilitate teaching, in-service education, and clinical skill development
- Maintain and review competency frameworks, education resources, and training records
- Support staff to meet regulatory, organisational, and professional standards
- Collaborate with clinical leaders to identify learning needs and improvement opportunities
- Promote a culture of learning, safety, and
continuous professional development
About you
We are seeking an experienced Anaesthetic Technician or RNAA with a passion for clinical education and coaching. The ideal candidate will have a proactive approach to education, excellent communication skills, and the ability to provide tailored guidance, with a commitment to supporting the professional development of new and existing staff, ensuring they are confident, competent and well integrated into our team.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong communication, leadership, and organisational skills, with the ability to provide constructive feedback and support staff at all career stages
- Proactive approach to problem‑solving, continuous improvement, and managing multiple priorities
- Demonstrated passion for education, mentoring, and staff development, fostering a supportive and engaging learning environment
- Registration and current APC with the relevant regulatory body, plus a minimum of 2 years’ post‑qualification experience
- Competency in te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori, or a commitment to ongoing learning and growth in this area
- Ability to work collaboratively to ensure continuity of education during planned and unplanned leave
- Experience contributing to projects or initiatives that give effect to Te Tiriti principles and apply Mātauranga Māori and Kaupapa Māori frameworks in healthcare settings
- Previous experience in clinical education or supervision is advantageous
- Postgraduate qualification in clinical education or adult learning is advantageous
