At Health New Zealand, our Recruitment Partners partner with a portfolio of directorates to deliver both strategic and operational recruitment guidance, advice, and support to people leaders.
They are responsible for delivering candidate-centric recruitment services across their portfolio, ensuring a seamless and positive experience for both candidates and hiring managers.
This role is based in our Christchurch office and requires a Canterbury-based presence; however, we support flexible working arrangements as well as a mix of onsite work and working from other sites throughout the Canterbury Hospital Network.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
- Deliver end-to-end recruitment across a diverse portfolio of clinical and non-clinical roles
- Partner with hiring managers to provide practical, solutions-focused recruitment advice
- Manage recruitment activity including job briefs, advertising, shortlisting, interviews, and offers
- Ensure recruitment practices align with Health NZ policies, systems, and compliance requirements
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, recruitment reporting, and process enhancements.
About You
You are a confident and adaptable recruitment professional who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. You bring a strong ability to build trusted relationships, provide practical advice, and deliver recruitment outcomes that meet both immediate and long-term workforce needs.
You are comfortable working across a diverse portfolio, picking up new roles quickly, and navigating competing priorities with a solutions-focused approach. You take pride in delivering a high-quality, candidate-centric experience and supporting hiring managers to make informed, confident decisions.
You’ll also bring a collaborative mindset, contributing positively to team culture while supporting and mentoring others where needed.
Essential:
- Proven experience in internal recruitment or agency recruitment.
- Tertiary qualification in a relevant field and / or equivalent experience in a recruitment or talent role.
- Proven relevant experience in a position in Recruitment or other Human Resource discipline.
- Knowledge and understanding of relevant NZ legislation and its application in a large, complex organisation.
- Ability to work with ambiguity and evolving systems and processes.
- Strong ability to manage multiple vacancies and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to build effective relationships and influence outcomes across diverse stakeholder groups.
- Experience using recruitment systems and tools to manage workflows and reporting.
- A commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion, including an understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
Desired:
- Knowledge and understanding of, and preferably experience working the public health sector.
- Experience coaching and guiding others.
