Regional Clinical Lead – Mental Health and Addiction (0.4 FTE, 12-Month Secondment)

Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity
This new role is a pivotal leadership role within the mental health and addiction sector, responsible for providing clinical direction, guidance, and motivation to local and regional clinical and operational leaders. The goal is to ensure the delivery of safe, high-quality care that meets performance targets and contributes to a high-performing mental health and addiction system across the regional delivery network
Work closely with the National Mental Health and Addiction Leadership team and in partnership with the Regional Lead Mental Health and Addiction, to ensure the effectiveness of clinical and non-clinical services. The role will ensure that the mental health and addiction services are equitable, high quality, and sustainable, prioritizing whānau-centred care that is responsive to the unique needs of diverse communities.
This leadership position is crucial to
ensuring that mental health and addiction services are transformational,
delivering services that are not only high quality but also integrated and
accessible to all.
Nga Pūkenga Motuhake | Important Skills
The successful candidate will have:
· A relevant clinical qualification and current practicing certificate
· 10+ years in the New Zealand public health system or similar.
· 3+ years in senior clinical leadership in mental health and addiction, including experience with relevant legislation.
· Proven experience leading serious adverse event investigations and implementing recommendations.
· Experience representing the organization in formal and public settings.
· Strong ability to work in partnership with Māori and other ethnic groups, with practical knowledge of Te Tiriti o Waitangi implementation.
