Registered Midwife - Kurawaka Waipapa

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Registered Midwife to embrace
a new role where you can make a real difference in the lives of māmā, pēpi, and
whānau from all walks of life.
If you are looking for a positive change we have a fantastic opportunity to become part of a highly skilled and professional midwifery team. We can offer you unique experiences within our Women’s Health services to enable you to learn and develop professionally across a range of midwifery practice.
We have a 6 week rolling roster were you will be required
to work all shifts – Morning, Afternoon and Nights, across Monday to Sunday.
About the Service
Kurawaka: Waipapa is a birthing unit with 4 birthing rooms,
all with birthing pools, and 20 postnatal rooms.
The Canterbury Waitaha and West Coast Te Tai o Poutini
Maternity System has a dynamic, dedicated and specialised team of health
professionals working within both our purpose built, secondary/tertiary
maternity facilities and our Community Birthing Units.

About you
You will have the following skills and experience:
- Recent clinical experience regarding: planning, provision and evaluation of care for whānau in a primary community birthing setting.
- Strong commitment to the protection, promotion and support of breastfeeding.
- Excellent communicator, with the ability to make informed decisions that focus on providing quality maternity care for the whānau within our services.
- Demonstrate the ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively with other professionals.
- Works in mana-enhancing ways to understand, recognise and uplift the cultural practice of birthing and postnatal whānau.
- Ability to be adaptable, flexible and solution focused.
- Excellent time management, interpersonal and organisational skills.
- Registered with the
Midwifery Council of New Zealand with a current Annual Practising
Certificate (APC)
