About the Role

We have a permanent part-time position (flexible from 0.4FTE - 0.6FTE) and a casual position available. Please indicate in your personalised cover letter what position and FTE you are seeking.

As a Registered Midwife, you will work as an autonomous practitioner providing compassionate, high-quality maternity care to women and their whānau throughout their inpatient journey. You will work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and wider health services to develop and deliver individualised care plans that support positive outcomes for both mother and baby.

This is a dynamic and rewarding role where you will utilise your clinical expertise across primary, secondary and tertiary maternity care, contribute to a supportive team environment, and play a key role in delivering safe, culturally responsive and evidence-based care.

About the Service

Rangiora Maternity is situated in a lovely rural setting 20-30 minutes’ drive from central Christchurch. It is a 10 bedded Primary Maternity Unit, providing both birth and postnatal care. There is also an outreach obstetrics and gynaecology clinic held at the facility to ensure care closer to home for women who live in North Canterbury. Part of this role involves the follow up appointments for local women after they have seen the obstetric team and require ongoing observation.

The unit forms part of the Rangiora Health Hub which also has outpatient clinics for a range of public health services. The Rangiora Health Hub is continuing to grow in response to needs of the community.
