Rangiora Maternity is situated in a lovely rural setting 20-30 minutes’ drive from central Christchurch. It is a 10 bedded Primary Maternity Unit, providing both birth and postnatal care. There is also an outreach obstetrics and gynaecology clinic held at the facility to ensure care closer to home for wahine/women who live in North Canterbury. Part of this role involves the follow up appointments for local women after they have seen the obstetric team and require ongoing observation.

The unit forms part of the Rangiora Health hub which also has outpatient clinics for a range of public health services. The Rangiora Health Hub is continuing to grow in response to needs of the community.
