Registered Nurse – Acute General Medicine

- Based in Ward 17, Christchurch Hospital

About the Role
As a Registered Nurse with an interest in acute general medicine, you’ll have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to contribute positively to a team. Well-developed assessment and organisational skills are imperative to this busy acute environment.
You will be provided with an extensive orientation programme, and for those with a desire to learn ongoing professional development opportunities are available. We have a strong commitment to your ongoing professional development and achieving best outcomes for patients.
We currently have two permanent part-time positions available at 0.8FTE (32 hours per week) and 0.9FTE (36 hours per week). Shifts are rostered across Monday - Sunday; morning, afternoon and nights and flexibility to work all shifts is required.
About the Service
Ward 17 is a 22-bed acute general medical ward. We work in a dynamic and fast paced environment with a supportive team and promote a restorative care approach when working with patients and their families.
About You
- Experienced Registered Nurse, demonstrating senior-level clinical expertise and leadership capability
- Experience in Acute care is highly desirable
- Registered with the Nursing Council of New Zealand with a current Annual Practising Certificate (APC)
- Solution focused, adaptable, self-motivated with the ability to think on your feet
- Excellent time management and interpersonal skills
- Excellent team player with the ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.
