About the Role

Join our dedicated Acute General Medicine based in Ward 16 at Christchurch Hospital. As a Registered Nurse, you'll provide high-quality, patient-centred care to a diverse range of acutely unwell adult patients, working alongside a supportive multidisciplinary team. This is an exciting opportunity to develop your clinical skills in a fast-paced environment while making a meaningful difference to the lives of patients and their whānau.

About the Service

Ward 16 is a 22-bed acute general medical ward based at Christchurch Hospital.

We are a supportive team and promote a restorative care approach when working with patients and their whānau.

About You

As a Registered Nurse with an interest in acute general medicine, you’ll have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to contribute positively to a team. Well-developed assessment and organisational skills are imperative to this busy acute environment.

You will be provided with an extensive orientation programme, and for those with a desire to learn ongoing professional development opportunities are available. We have a strong commitment to your ongoing professional development and achieving best outcomes for patients.

  • Acute medical experience is desirable
  • Registered with the Nursing Council of New Zealand with a current Annual Practising Certificate (APC)
  • Able to work across all shifts, Monday to Sunday; morning, afternoon and night
