Registered Nurse – Adult Day Surgery Units

About the Role

We currently have a 0.6FTE (24 hours per week) permanent position available for a senior Registered Nurse to join the team.

Our Day Surgery Nursing team provides pre- and post-operative care to patients undergoing surgical and interventional radiology procedures across many specialties and provides pre-operative care for patients having major surgery.

Hours of work:

  • Monday – Friday, closed on Public Holidays
  • Shifts: 0645 - 1515, 0700 - 1530, 0900 – 1730 and 1130 – 2000 with on call 2000 – 2100.

About the Service

Our service has three adult Day Surgery Units; Day Surgery Unit, DOSA and Adult Surgical Admissions Waipapa and one Children's Day Surgery Unit, Children's Surgical Admissions Waipapa.

About You

We are looking for a Registered Nurse with a variety of surgical nursing skills and attributes to work as part of our nursing team. Working in this fast-paced environment, you will contribute positively to our innovative and dynamic multidisciplinary team whom all strive to provide quality patient care.

  • Experience working with adults and children
  • 3+ years Surgical Nursing experience
  • Must be able to work all shifts Monday to Friday
  • Flexibility to move around the 4 units
  • Solution focused, adaptable, self-motivated with the ability to think on your feet, your excellent time management, and interpersonal skills, will see you thrive in this role
  • Leadership or coordinator experience
  • Track record in precepting
  • Registered with the Nursing Council of New Zealand with a current Annual Practicing Certificate (APC)
