Registered Nurse – Christchurch Outpatients

About the Role

This Registered Nurse position will be on the casual outpatient pool to cover shifts across Monday to Friday between the hours of 8am and 5:30pm. There are no nights or weekends/public holidays required.

We are seeking a Registered Nurse with a flexible schedule available to cover short notice shifts preferably with wound care, procedural assistance, cannulation and venepuncture experience.

About the Service

Christchurch General Outpatients works across two floors of our purpose-built facility. We provide nursing support and care for up to 24 different Specialities. Every day in Christchurch Outpatients is different with the Nursing team managing wound care, assisting in diagnostic procedures such as flexible cystoscopy, supporting minor surgery and procedures, as well as running nurse led clinics such as Phototherapy.

About You

You will be an energetic and reliable person and work proactively to provide high quality patient care. You should have excellent time management and be able to work well within a team.

Skills and Experience:

  • Registered with the Nursing Council of New Zealand with a current Annual Practising Certificate (APC)
  • Wound care, procedural assistance, cannulation and venepuncture experience preferred
  • Excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills and ability to build effective relationships with a strong patient focus.
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Excellent time management and attention to detail
  • Work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team
  • The ability to be adaptable, flexible and solution focused
