Registered Nurse - Endocrine Test Centre and Outpatients


  • Permanent part time 0.5 FTE position within the Endocrine Test Centre, with additional flexibility of up to permanent full time with a 0.5 FTE dual role in Christchurch Outpatients

Mō te tūnga | About the role

The Endocrine Test Centre is a purpose-built area within Christchurch Outpatients that provides specialist testing and treatment for patients with a wide variety of Endocrine disorders.  As part of the Nursing team you will have the opportunity to develop your knowledge within the specialty and have the opportunity to be involved in Nurse led clinics providing the ongoing assessment and follow up for Patients in the community.

Christchurch Outpatients (including the Anaesthetic Assessment Clinic) works across three floors of our outpatient facility. We provide the nursing support and care for twenty different specialties. Every day in Christchurch Outpatients is different with the Nursing team managing wound care, assisting in diagnostic procedures such as flexible cystoscopy, supporting minor surgery, as well as running nurse led Phototherapy clinics. 

Ko wai koe | About You

The Endocrine Test Centre (ETC) nursing team are seeking an experienced nurse with strong clinical reasoning and the ability to work both autonomously and as part of a small team.  This role requires you to implement clinical protocols for patients undergoing a variety of specialist tests so the ability to demonstrate clinical judgement and attention to detail is essential.  You will have recent medical or acute experience and enjoy providing education and patient centred care.

The ETC is currently open 0730 - 1300 Monday to Friday except Thursday which is a full day. Additional FTE within our Outpatient Nursing Team is also available for the successful candidate, to gain up to 1.0 FTE within the Outpatient setting. This offers the opportunity for increased hours plus to widen your clinical experience and fully immerse yourself in what Outpatient life has to offer.

  • Registered with the Nursing Council of New Zealand with a current APC
  • Cannulation and Venepuncture skills essential
  • Recent Medical or Acute experience preferable
