Registered Nurse - Orthopaedic Outpatients

About the Role
We are looking for energetic Registered Nurses to work in our busy emergency and outpatient specialty departments.
In this role you will work a rotating roster across both areas, Orthopaedic Outpatient Department and Acute Orthopaedic Care.
We will provide a comprehensive orientation package in a supportive environment. Professional development is supported, and you will have the opportunity to attend trainings.
We currently have one 0.6FTE permanent position and one casual position available. Please indicate in your cover letter which role you would like to be considered for.
About the Service
The Orthopaedic Outpatient Department is based in Christchurch Hospital. We care for patients of all ages covering acute emergency/trauma, follow-up appointments and specialty clinics. No day will be the same with a variety of tasks including wound management, casting, splinting, patient education and running a variety of clinics. Shifts are rostered across Monday to Friday, between 8am and 5:30pm.
Our Acute Orthopaedic Care is based in the Emergency Department in Waipapa Hospital.
Shifts are rostered across Monday to Sunday times of; 8am – 4:30pm, 10:30am – 7pm and 2:30pm to 11pm.
About You
You’ll have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work well under pressure within a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Acute Orthopaedic or Emergency experience is essential
- Ability to work all shifts
- Excellent customer service skills and the ability to work in an inclusive team environment.
- A high attention to detail and the ability to relate to patients and their families.
- A good use of initiative and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent time management skills and a willingness to learn.
- Registered with the Nursing Council of New Zealand with a current Annual Practising Certificate (APC)
