Registered Nurse – Plastics


  • Based on Ward 20 at Christchurch Hospital
  • 1 x 0.5FTE (20 hours per week) permanent position available
  • Shifts rostered across Monday - Sunday; morning, afternoon and night

About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and energetic Registered Nurse to join our team on a permanent contract. Join us and add value to our dedicated multi-disciplinary team. In return you will have the opportunity to expand on your own surgical nursing skills and experience.

We will provide you with a comprehensive orientation program which will be tailored to your needs and you will also receive support with your ongoing professional development.

About the Service

Our specialty service cares for patients requiring hand, breast and plastic surgery. We also specialise in wound management and are the Regional Burn Centre for the South Island.

The service operates Monday to Sunday on a rotating roster with shifts rostered across morning, afternoon and nights.

About You 

  • 3+ years surgical experience
  • Wound care or plastic burns experience is desirable
  • Ability to work all shifts – Morning, Afternoon and Nights
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Can work collaboratively with the wider multidisciplinary team
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to effectively and efficiently complete tasks
  • Registered with the Nursing Council of New Zealand with a current Annual Practising Certificate (APC)
