About the Role
The Post Anaesthetic Care Unit (PACU) - Recovery service at Christchurch Hospital is an exciting blend of Monday to Friday work that runs alongside an acute 24/7 service. About the Service
PACU nurses are orientated to work in all areas of the service; This includes a Children’s Recovery, Obstetric Recovery and 3 other Adult Recovery Units. A 6-week orientation is provided and overseen by our Nurse Educator. Our Clinical Nurse Specialist ensures that your skills continue to progress after this period. We also work as a Dedicated Education Unit (DEU) to support student placements. We currently have 4 Clinical Liaison Nurses (CLN) who work a mix of shifts on the floor and are rostered off the floor to meet key student assessments and meeting schedules.
