Registered Nurse – Rheumatology Service

About the Role
The Rheumatology Registered Nurse role is a fundamental component of the Rheumatology service provided here in Canterbury, Waitaha.
You will be responsible for:
- Clinical assessments
- Telephone consultants
- Pathology and Radiology testing and result assessments
- Medical Day Unit reviews
- Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team to deliver and meet the needs of the service.
About the Service
The department of Rheumatology, Immunology and Allergy is based in the Outpatients building opposite Christchurch Public Hospital. In this service there are two inter-related specialties, that of Rheumatology and Immunology/Allergy who work closely together.
Rheumatology is primarily an outpatient-based service while also providing a consultative service to inpatients. The Rheumatology service covers Canterbury with clinics in Kaikoura and Greymouth. There are approximately 3.7FTE Consultants, 1 FTE Registrar and 1.0 FTE CNS and 0.5FTE RN in the service. Nurse-led clinics form an integral part of the clinical care for this patient cohort.
About you
- You will have experience in the Rheumatology specialty, an in-house training programme will be offered.
- Excellent interpersonal, organization skills and the ability to be an active member in an inter-disciplinary team and work autonomously.
- Registered with the Nursing Council of New Zealand with a current Annual Practicing Certificate (APC).
