Registered Nurse - Wāhi Oranga

About the role
Wāhi Oranga is an inpatient rehabilitation unit which offers a recovery-based programme that enables people with mental health issues to live fulfilling lives in the community.
The goals of this multi-disciplinary staffed service are:
- Provision of a safe and supportive environment to provide extended assessment, treatment and rehabilitation following an admission to the adult acute service
- Teaching skills to help support illness management and to support consumers to live the life they want to live
- Support development of structure and meaningful routines
- Support safe discharge into a community setting
Current Opportunity:
- 1x Fixed term, Full-time (0.94FTE) opportunity until 4th February 2027.
- Roster pattern - working, 4 on 2 off including “all shifts - morning, afternoon, and nights".
About you
- Registered with the Nursing Council of
New Zealand with a current APC and mental health scope;
- An interest in Safewards and training in the Collaborative Problem Solving Approach will be provided;
- An ability to forge and foster meaningful relationships, whilst treating others with respect, encouragement and support;
- Adhere to guidelines of Cultural Safety and the Treaty of Waitangi.
