The team in Ward A5 at Christchurch Hospital enjoys working in a busy Elective General Surgical Ward with a focus on colorectal surgery. No two days are the same in this fast-paced team that focus on peri-operative care and recovery.

Ko wai koe | About You

We’re looking for a Registered Nurse to join us who is passionate about surgery and are keen to move their career forward. Working in our large multidisciplinary team you can expect to work closely with and learn from our Surgeons, our Nurse Educator and Clinical Nurse Specialist, who are all experts in their specialties and who are focused on advances in surgical care that improve clinical outcomes.

In turn you will bring your exceptional interpersonal skills and organizational skills and will be a real team player.

Ward A5 is also a Dedicated Education Unit where you’ll enjoy being involved in the development of student nurses. You will have effective problem solving and decision-making skills and a commitment to providing and maintaining high standards of nursing practice within our service.

  • Acute surgical experience is desirable
  • A NZ Registered Nurse with current Annual Practising Certificate
