Registered Nurses - Neonatal Intensive Care Unit

About the Role
We have exciting opportunities for experienced Neonatal Registered Nurses to join the team.
The first few weeks of a newborn’s life are a time of change, transition, and challenge, and neonatal nurses are the experts who care for unwell newborns during this sometimes difficult period.
We have permanent and fixed term positions available from 0.4FTE – 1.0FTE. Our shifts are 8 or 12 hours and scheduled across mornings, afternoons and nights on a rotating roster.

About the Service
The Neonatal Service at Christchurch Women’s Hospital is a busy acute service providing secondary/tertiary care to new-born babies born prematurely or with surgical, congenital and medical complications following birth. We are currently resourced as a 44 bedded unit compromised of 12 intensive care and 32 special care cots with our catchment area covering approximately 20,000 square kilometres of the South Island.
About You
If you have Neonatal experience, enjoy working as part of a dynamic multidisciplinary service in a busy tertiary unit and have the ability to work 8 or 12 hour rostered rotating shifts including nights then we want to hear from you.
We are looking for dynamic, confident and competent Registered Nurses who wish to be a part of a team that provides quality evidence based nursing care for the neonates and families within our care.
You will have effective problem solving and decision-making
skills and a commitment to providing and maintaining high standards of nursing
practice within our service.
You will be given a thorough orientation and supported with your ongoing
professional development.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to engage well with families
- Recent Neonatal experience
- Ability to work all shifts – Morning, Afternoon and Nights
- A passion to engage with and provide holistic care or children and their families
- Ability to work efficiently and effectively in a dynamic multidisciplinary team
- Ability to work under pressure
- Registered with the Nursing Council of New Zealand with a current Annual Practising Certificate (APC)
