About the Role
Te Whare Manaaki is a medium secure forensic mental health unit providing specialist care within a dynamic and rewarding environment. We are seeking motivated and compassionate Registered Nurses to join our cohesive multi-disciplinary team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute your clinical expertise, enthusiasm, and professionalism within a service focused on recovery, rehabilitation, and supporting tāngata whai ora to achieve their goals.
Working within this role, you will:
- Deliver high-quality mental health nursing care within a forensic setting
- Build therapeutic, supportive, and empowering relationships with tāngata whai ora and whānau
- Work collaboratively within a skilled multi-disciplinary team
- Support individuals to identify strengths, enhance wellbeing, and achieve personal aspirations
- Case
manage tāngata whai ora within a recovery-focused model of care
About You
You will be a resilient, adaptable, and compassionate Registered Nurse with a genuine passion for mental health nursing and recovery-focused practice.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Registration with the Nursing Council of New Zealand and a current APC with a Mental Health scope of practice
- Previous mental health nursing experience
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- The ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team
- Strong time management and organisational skills
- A current full New Zealand Driver Licence
- Flexibility to work across a rotating roster and all shifts
