About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Sexual Health Physician to join our Christchurch Sexual Health Service team commencing in early September 2026. This permanent position provides an exciting opportunity to deliver best-practice sexual healthcare while working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary environment.
As a Sexual Health Physician, you will provide high-quality specialist care and contribute to ongoing service development. This role offers the opportunity to work across a diverse patient population while supporting clinical excellence through collaboration, education, and quality improvement activities.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting outpatient clinic duties and providing competent, ethical management of sexual health conditions
- Offering expert advice, referrals, and consultations with other healthcare professionals
- Supervising, teaching, and contributing to research initiatives
- Maintaining clinical documentation and participating in quality improvement processes

Our team is made up of doctors, clinical nurse specialists, nursing staff, and administrative professionals who work together to provide a high-quality, patient-centred sexual health service across the Canterbury region.

About You
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A medical qualification recognised for vocational registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand as a Sexual Health Physician
- A current Annual Practising Certificate
- A postgraduate medical qualification in the field of Sexual Health Medicine
- Experience in sexual health medicine, reproductive health, public health, and HIV management is highly desirable
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- The ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
- A patient-focused and empathetic approach to healthcare
