Stem Cell Transplant Fellow – Haematology Service | Christchurch Hospital: Fixed Term Full-Time (12 Months)
Develop advanced expertise in stem cell transplantation within a leading tertiary haematology service. This Fellowship offers a unique opportunity to gain experience in autologous and allogeneic stem cell transplantation while working within a highly skilled multidisciplinary team.
This role is ideal for trainees who have completed advanced training in Haematology and are seeking further subspecialty experience in stem cell transplantation in a large tertiary hospital.

About the Role
The Haematology Service at Christchurch Hospital is offering a 12-month Stem Cell Transplant Fellowship providing advanced clinical exposure to haematological malignancies and stem cell transplantation.
The successful candidate will participate in the clinical management of patients undergoing autologous and allogeneic stem cell transplantation, including inpatient and outpatient care. You will work closely with consultant haematologists, transplant coordinators, specialist nurses, and allied health professionals to deliver comprehensive care to patients with complex haematological conditions.
This Fellowship provides an excellent opportunity to develop subspecialty expertise in stem cell transplantation while contributing to a high-performing tertiary haematology service.
About the Team / Service / Location
The Haematology Service at Christchurch Hospital provides comprehensive diagnostic and treatment services for patients with haematological malignancies and blood disorders across the South Island. The service includes specialist inpatient care, outpatient clinics, stem cell transplantation, and strong links to clinical research and teaching.
Christchurch Hospital is the largest tertiary hospital in the South Island and provides a full range of specialist medical and surgical services. The Haematology team works closely with oncology, pathology, and laboratory services to provide integrated and patient-centred care.

About you
You will be a motivated clinician seeking to further develop your expertise in stem cell transplantation within a tertiary haematology service.
You will also have:
- Eligibility for General Registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand
- Advanced training in Haematology or equivalent recognised qualification
- A strong interest in stem cell transplantation
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Commitment to high-quality patient care and clinical excellence
