About the role

We are looking for an inspiring, retail focussed supervisor to lead and motivate the café team.

Our team works within a fast-paced environment running 7 days per week, 365 days per year.

In this role you will be responsible for:

  • Customer Experience & Quality Control: Lead the team to deliver excellent customer service. Ensure all food and beverages meet the highest standards for quality, presentation, and timeliness.
  • Team Leadership: Provide daily guidance, coaching, and support to your team. Foster a positive, professional, and customer-focused environment.
  • Operational Excellence: Lead the team on the floor to ensure smooth operations, including cash reconciliation, stock ordering, waste control, and visual merchandising.
  • Safety & Compliance: Champion and uphold the food control plan, hygiene practices, and all health & safety procedures. Ensure all staff understand and follow these critical standards.

About You

We are looking for a reliable, hardworking and flexible candidate who is able to bring their exceptional skill and passion for food to our team.

Adaptability is essential as the successful candidate will be required to work across multiple work areas and complete a variety of tasks. 

Skills/Attributes required:

  • 1-2 years' experience in a supervisory role, in a café or retail.
  • Demonstrated understanding of food safety.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Able to work well under pressure
  • Basic barista skills and knowledge of coffee preparation.
  • Experience in cash handling and reconciliation
  • NZQA Food Handling Cert Unit 167 / 168
