We are looking for compassionate and reliable Support Workers to join our team. Working under the direction of a Registered Health Professional, you will provide safe, high-quality and culturally respectful support that promotes dignity, independence and wellbeing.
About the role
As a Support Worker, you will play an important part in helping people remain active participants in their own care and continue living fulfilling lives within their communities.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing safe, high-quality support in line with individual care plans
- Supporting clients in a respectful, culturally safe and mana-enhancing way
- Encouraging independence and participation in everyday activities
- Promoting dignity, choice and quality of life
- Following care plans, policies and organisational procedures
- Working collaboratively with health professionals, clients and their whānau
- Using technology effectively for communication and service administration
- Participating in ongoing training and skills development
- Identifying barriers and opportunities to improve access, experience and outcomes for clients
- Contributing to inclusive, responsive and effective service delivery
- Undertaking other reasonable duties as agreed with your manager
About you

What you’ll need
- NZ Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (Level 2), or a willingness to undertake this qualification with support to progress through Level 3 and potentially Level 4
- A current full New Zealand driver's licence
- Competency with Microsoft applications and similar software
- A commitment to ongoing learning and professional development
It would be an advantage if you have
- Previous caregiving or support work experience in the community, hospital or aged-care environment
- Experience supporting people with complex or changing needs
- An understanding of person-centred care and the importance of supporting people to maintain their independence
