Team Coordinator – Endoscope Reprocessing

- 1.0 FTE permanent position (40 hours per week)
- Monday to Friday, with start times between 7:30am and 9:30am

About the Role
The Gastrointestinal Endoscopy Unit is a dynamic, patient-focused service providing a wide range of diagnostic and interventional endoscopy procedures. As the Team Coordinator for endoscope reprocessing, you will work 8-hour shifts, Monday to Friday between the hours of 7:30am-6:00pm.
In this role you will work within a highly skilled multidisciplinary team, leading and coordinating endoscope reprocessing resources to meet the needs of both internal and external stakeholders.
This is a fast-paced clinical environment where flexibility,
strong clinical judgement, and excellent teamwork are essential.
About the Service
The Gastrointestinal Endoscopy Unit undertakes more than 14,000 diagnostic and interventional procedures annually and provides specialised gastrointestinal and respiratory services to the Canterbury population. The service also acts as a secondary and tertiary referral centre for the South Island.
The unit operates from a purpose-built facility at Christchurch Hospital, featuring eight procedure rooms, two recovery areas and two reprocessing areas, across two floors. The service also provides specialist endoscopy equipment to other areas of the hospital campus including Waipapa, Parkside Operating Theatres, Interventional Radiology, and ICU.
In addition to clinical excellence, the service has a strong research programme recognised internationally and an active undergraduate and postgraduate teaching programme.
About You
As a Team Coordinator in this service, you will bring strong
sterile sciences knowledge and experience and the ability to effectively
coordinate people and resources.
You will also have:
- Current NZSSA Registration, which maintained every 2 years
- At least 5 years’ experience working in a sterile sciences or endoscope reprocessing environment.
- Knowledge of AS/NZS 5369:2021 ‘Reprocessing of reusable medical devices and other devices in health and non-health related facilities’.
- Level 5 Sterilising Technology Course Certificate
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- The ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
