Trained Sterile Services Technician
- Part-time permanent position 0.8FTE available, 32 hours per week
- Located at Burwood Hospital, Christchurch

About the Role
We are a small, friendly facility situated near Burwood Forest, parking isn’t a problem and the facilities provide an excellent working environment. The role in our Sterile Services Unit, which is part of the Operating Suite, also offers you a varied day working across the roles required to provide Sterile Services both internally and externally.
Hours of work are Monday to Friday, 8-hour shifts between the hours of 6:00am and 10:00pm with staggered start times. No weekend or public holidays required.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Providing direct technical processing of reusable medical devices (RMDs)
- Ensuring decontamination is achieved through the correct washing process
- Ensuring that the correct sterilisation process is selected and used (Steam, Sterrad etc) as appropriate
- Ensuring that RMDs are inspected and tested as required and specific to each RMD
- Ensuring all required documentation is completed
About You
We are seeking an experienced Sterile Services Technician to join our team.
- You will need to be able to perform well under pressure
- A high level of attention to detail
- Good communication skills
- You will also need to be physically fit as this role does involve some lifting
- Completion of NZSSA Sterilising Technology Certification
- Competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth
