Trainee Cardiac Sonographer

About the Role
As a Trainee Cardiac Sonographer, you
will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team in a tertiary hospital. In
this trainee position you will develop the knowledge and skills to perform
echocardiograms make measurements and write the provisional report. We
will support you over two years to complete an Auckland based
qualification in echocardiography.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Attending the Auckland based education programme
- As a trainee Cardiac Sonographer, you will learn to perform and report transthoracic echocardiograms and exercise echocardiograms
- In your second year of training you will be expected to be scanning independently
- Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora will pay all training costs, and for two years will support you to undertake the PGD through University of Auckland. This course is distance-based learning. The expectation for this role is 32 hours a week hands on learning and scanning and 8 hours study per week.

- BSc in Physiology or equivalent
- Experience working in a clinical role in cardiology preferred
