About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a trainee vascular sonographer to join our vascular ultrasound service. In this role, you will be supported to learn and perform high-quality vascular ultrasound examinations while progressively developing your clinical decision-making and critical thinking skills. You will build reporting capability with increasing autonomy over time and contribute to patient care in collaboration with experienced sonographers, vascular surgeons, nurses, and radiologists.

You will be part of a supportive, collegial environment where quality, learning, and teamwork are highly valued. While much of your training will be alongside vascular sonographers, you will also be an important member of the wider general ultrasound department, gaining exposure to a broad range of clinical practice.

This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference to the health journey of our patients and their whānau, as you grow both clinically and professionally. As part of your development, you will undertake the Graduate Diploma in Vascular Sonography (extramurally) through the University of Western Sydney, commencing with the 2027 intake.

Remuneration is as per the APEX Sonographer's collective agreement with progression on successful qualification.

  • Eligibility to enrol in the Graduate Diploma in Vascular Sonography at Western Sydney for the 2027 intake
  • New Zealand working rights 
  • Eligibility to obtain MRTB registration
  • Ideally, some experience in a clinical setting
