Transcriptionists | Christchurch Hospital
Calling all experienced transcriptionists … are you looking for variety and flexibility? We have two fixed term positions available and are happy to receive full or part time applications.
- 2 Fixed Term Transcriptionist positions – for 6 months
- 1 x Full time position and 1 x part time position (20 hours per week)
- Monday to Friday with flexible hours
- Based on the Christchurch Hospital Campus

Mō te tūnga - About the Role
Transcriptionist work requires accuracy, discretion, confidentiality and the ability to work quickly and efficiently while meeting tight deadlines.
Working with Service teams across the Christchurch Hospital Campus to transcribe clinical dictation, you will play a key role in ensuring that patient information is received by the next treatment provider in a timely manner.
As part of the Administration and Clerical Pay Equity Claim settlement this role has been mapped to National Role Profile Band 3B

To be successful in this role you will have:
- Excellent customer service skills – people focused
- Excellent keyboard skills (typing speed of 50-70 wpm)
- Commitment and ability to achieve accuracy and maintain attention to detail
- Technically savvy – quick at picking up new applications/systems
- Excellent organisational, time management and problem-solving skills
- Ability to meet deadlines and work unsupervised
- A team player
- Intermediate user in the Microsoft suite of products e.g. Word, Outlook, Excel
- High level of written and verbal communication skills
