About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and organised Ward Clerk to support our interdisciplinary team in delivering high-quality patient care. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the ward by managing administrative tasks and clerical duties.
As part of the Administration and Clerical Pay Equity Claim settlement this role has been mapped to National Band 3/Profile 3

Key Responsibilities
- Provide administrative and clerical support to the ward.
- Manage ward documentation, telephone inquiries, and computer-based records.
- Serve as the first point of contact for patients, families, and visitors at ward reception.
- Record and process all patient admissions and discharges.
- Maintain and update patient and ward information on computer systems.
- Ensure efficient utilisation of resources to support patient care.
About you
Essential Requirements
- Experience in ward processing, including Windows-based systems.
- Reception and/or office administration experience.
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
- Strong computer skills and ability to learn new systems.
- Organised, task-oriented, and adaptable to a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities effectively.
- A collaborative team player who thrives in a healthcare setting.
Desirable
- Previous experience working in a healthcare environment is an advantage.
