Welfare Advisor | West Coast


 

Mō te tūnga | About the role

With a desire to promote our staff’s health and wellbeing, we are looking to appoint a part-time Welfare Advisor based on the West Coast for approximately 25 hours per week. The role includes being responsible for delivering group wellbeing sessions, supporting staff following traumatic incidents, facilitating care connection as well as promoting and facilitating healthy relationships amongst staff.

This is a varied and interesting role which provides a unique opportunity to have a real impact on people’s experience at work.

The role is permanent.

Pehea | About You

To be successful in this role you may be a health professional, most likely either a registered nurse or an allied health professional, or you may be someone with a strong interest and relevant experience in Wellbeing who is working (for example) in an enabling function within health.  You will have a passion for people, with a genuine interest in their wellbeing whilst forming meaningful connections and using your resourcefulness to connect people with services they may require.

Your skills, qualifications and experience include:

  • May hold appropriate professional qualifications/memberships (a current APC is preferred, but not essential)
  • Experience in a health setting
  • Strong partnering and relationship building skills
  • Competence or aptitude for delivering group wellbeing sessions
  • Experience in responding to traumatic and/or stressful scenarios
  • Skilled or have a desire to develop yourself in conflict resolution
  • Excellent professional boundaries and professionalism
  • Full current driver’s license
