About the Role
Clinical Manager position for the Anxiety Disorders Service. Exciting leadership opportunity in the Specialty and Addictions service for a manager (1.0 FTE).
If you are an enthusiastic, experienced and dynamic senior Registered Nurse or Allied Health Professional seeking a leadership opportunity, or an existing leader looking for a new challenge, this could be the role for you.
This key Clinical Manager position is responsible for the operational and clinical leadership of the Anxiety Disorders Service within the Specialty and Addictions Service. Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, you will play a central role in ensuring high-quality, recovery-focused care is delivered in line with Te Whatu Ora objectives, alongside effective financial and operational management.
You will bring strong clinical expertise and demonstrated leadership capability within mental health services, ideally with experience in multidisciplinary team environments and the Specialist Mental Health Service. A sound understanding of service delivery, team management, and quality improvement is essential.
In this role, you will:
- Provide leadership to the multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, effective, and efficient assessment and treatment for tāngata whaiora and whānau.
- Provide a culture of continuous quality improvement, safety, and best practice.
- Provide leadership that shows commitment, urgency and is visibly open, clear, and innovative whilst building mutually beneficial partnerships with various stakeholders both internally and externally.
- Proactively manage the service budget through development, planning, and forecasting of the service budget in alignment with service objectives
- Support tāngata whenua and mana whenua-led change to achieve equitable health outcomes for Māori.
- In your clinical role you will hold a caseload and undertake psychiatric assessments and deliver Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.

at the Clinical Research Unit
Skills and experience
Essential:
- You will be an experienced Registered; Mental Health Nurse, Clinical Psychologist, Social Worker, Occupational Therapist, with a current New Zealand practising certificate.
- Experience in leadership and management of teams, leading service improvement and change initiatives.
- Skills and experience in psychiatric assessment, psychological therapies, and case management.
- A post graduate Diploma in CBT or other relevant qualification in CBT and skills / experience using CBT in both individual and group formats in your work with tāngata whaiora is required.
Desirable:
- Experience in research projects that improve quality of care and advance service delivery
