About the Role
The Anxiety Disorders Service, a Specialty Mental Health Service of Te Whatu Ora Waitaha Canterbury, Health New Zealand, provides specialist assessment and treatment to people (aged 18-65) whose everyday life is significantly affected by an anxiety disorder. We are currently recruiting a clinical Psychologist to join our team of dedicated health professionals striving to provide the best quality care to tangata whaiora and their whanau. This is a 1.0 fte permanent position.
The Anxiety Disorders Service has a multi-disciplinary team comprised of a Consultant Psychiatrist, Clinical Psychologists, Clinical Nurse Therapists, Occupational Therapist, Social Worker, Registrar, administration staff and access to a Physiotherapist and Dietitian.
About you
You will be a NZ registered clinical psychologist with experience working with adults who have a range of mental health issues including anxiety and depression with the aim of supporting recovery and decreasing the impacts on tangata whaiora, their whanau, caregivers, and the community. Central to your success and enjoyment in this role will be your excellent communication skills and an ability to build rapport with clients and health providers. As an experienced clinical psychologist, you will bring skills in psychiatric assessment and delivering Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.
This would be an ideal opportunity for a clinical psychologist who is interested in furthering their knowledge of the assessment and treatment of anxiety disorders. Supervision and support will be provided by a clinical psychologist within the team.
